Droz Report: Art Extravaganza Weekend

Here’s what I’m doing this weekend:

The (E)merge arts fair is Thursday, on the same night that the simultaneous Submerge festival is launching. This is no coincidence, and both will last throughout the weekend.  On Saturday, you don’t want to miss Art All Night, happening throughout the Shaw Neighborhood.  (For the record, my hometown of Pittsburgh invented Art All Night:  artallnight.org)

Locations:

  • (e)merge : Capitol Skyline Hotel
  • subMERGE : Super secrete abandoned warehouse, aka Jemal’s Acme Stove Building    1005 7th NW
  • But Is It Art?  :  Wonderbox Art Space  79 Hanover Place NW
  • Art All Night - 20 venues throughout saw, including the a giant party at the infamous Wonderbread Factory 641 S st NW

These venues and events are ongoing, but here’s the official Droz Report (subject to change, as always)

Thursday:

8pm-12 am - Impact DC, a party hosted by members of the tribe at Stroga DC.  Should be awesome, open bar, hordeurves, cocktails, etc….(but only if you can afford the $100+ ticket)

Otherwise I’d prob go to subMERGE launch party with DJs Stereofaith, Jerome Baker III and Tom Lim.

Friday -

5-7pm - I’m booked by Washington Life Magazine to shoot the Park Hyatt Masters of Food and Wine Reception.   I’m not supposed to eat or drink on the job, so I’ll make sure to get my work done first.

8-10pm - Head over to the subMERGE headquarters for the “official” launch party, thrown in conjunction with ScoutMob DC.  FB event here: https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=234625139922047

11pm -1 am  My good friend Eli  is moving to Houston and having a going away party with DJ Danny Harris of Fatback.  Right in Adams Morgan, it should be an awesome house party.  https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=262452170443502

Afterward it will be at that point where I’m not sure what will happen….  But I might have to go to sleep early BECAUSE

Saturday:

8am I am going to Baltimore to sell Zendulgence Hemp Ice Cream (yes, that’s right!) at the major natural food conference Expo East all day. If your in B-more, holla at me and I can try to get you in!

I’ll stick around Bmore for an Expo East Food Raid, maybe see a friend or two.  But then I gotta make it back for

Art all night!  exact schedule TBD but I’ll def try to hit stuff up and also want to check out the WonderBread.

Hit me up in comments below, on phone, SMS, @bendroz, facebook, in email, phone OR in real life. etc.
